Lead Teaching Elder
My name is Tyson Tolbert and I’m the Lead Teaching Elder at Minneola Community Church in Minneola KS. I’m a native to California and have spent most of life in the Central Valley. I grew up in a Christian home and believed on Christ at a young age. However, during my high school years I lived with little conviction. The Lord was patient and gracious with me and not long after high school I received a call to ministry during a Sunday night worship service. I immediately changed my plans and began attending Bethany Bible College. I completed a B.A. in Church Leadership, and while there, met my beautiful wife, Kim. Kim and I are enjoying over 26 years of marriage and together God has blessed us with three sons and one daughter-in-law, Noah and his wife Alayna, Levi, and Asher. The Lord has truly extended to my family grace and favor.
In 2002 I began my start in full-time ministry as a youth pastor in OK with the last seven years as a lead pastor in CA. Through the years, I have had the honor of serving the church in different pastoral positions and locations. I have also been blessed to obtain a MATS in historical theology and MA in theological studies through Reformed Baptist Seminary.
Ministry has many different facets and challenges, but God is always good. By God’s grace, I have a strong desire to see Christ’s church grow in holiness and devotion to God’s word. The call to every disciple is to love God first and foremost, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. God’s glory compels us to serve the Lord without fear. The believer who understands the privilege of salvation and humanity’s need for Jesus will do great service for the Kingdom.
